Louis Rorimer
Table and Chair design

Louis Rorimer was a lynchpin for activity in design--architectural, interior and furniture. He had the ear of the patrons as owner of the Rorimer Brooks Company, and taught decorative arts and design at the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1898-1936. Among his students were Horace Potter, Max Kalish and Charles Burchfield. His most important contributions were drawing upon the synergism that could be forged among these disciplines that was particularly important at a time when the opportunities for artist-architect collaboration were prime.
