Adomeit, George C.

George C. Adomeit

Between 1899 and 1940, the times each of these paintings were created, the painter was President and Art director of the Caxton Company, Printers and Engravers and his paintings and drawings were exhibited at 40 consecutive May Shows, where he won 24 awards. His American scene paintings follow him from Zoar and Berlin Heights to his reflections from summer trips outside the city on the East Coast and in Mexico, Canada and Brazil. His style, soft and painterly early, later shows influence of the harder edge of the work he did as a printer and engraver.
