Sallee, Charles

Charles Louis Sallee, Jr. (b. 1914)

Charles Sallee, at 90 plus years, tells his stories in this book. He was an artist from high school days, was an apprentice to his father who was an ornamental plasterer, and had many assignments during the WPA period when he was a vigorous painter and printmaker at the Karamu WPA Printmaking Project. Among the life work he talks about are the interior design commissions at the Cleveland Stadium and the Grand Ballroom at the Stouffer's Inn on the Square (now Renaissance Cleveland Hotel).
