1893 -Bonfoey and Company founded; began with hand carved frames; eventually started selling local art. -Olney Art Gallery opened. Closed in 1907, collection donated to Oberlin College. 1894 -Cleveland Watercolor Society established. -Soldiers and Sailors monument designed by -Brush and Palette Club, consisting exclusively of professional painters, established and mounts semi-annual exhibitions until about 1898. -Louis Rorimer returns from Europe and in 1896 opens a studio for producing handmade furniture, architectural molding and crafts. Died in 1939.
-Gottwald opens his summer school in Zoar. Died in 1941.
